  • rock paper scissors who'da thunk it?
MommaCat for her submission of

    uh...don't ask...

The Winner's Gallery

(showcasing winners of past competitions)

Here are some choice faux pas submissions that were sent this semester:
  • An item in the Metro section of the Los Angeles Times featured a Cadillac with "Lumber Seats."
(good for Pinocchio I guess; submitted anonymously)
  • This faux pas was in a manual designed to help high school students prepare for the verbal section of the SAT: "The standard pronumciation of an individual word is less important than the appropriate use of the word in writing." (er...submertid by Kimberley Cullen)

  • The winner of the tHE sloW CoNteSt is Samara Hamilton who devised a number of additional choice bits of information to send to Louanne Ellie Mae.

The winner of the Kipling contest is Karen McCarthy, who came up with the funniest (and most bitter) "If" parody--CONGRATULATIONS, Karen!

Winners of our Feed Your Head Contest are:

  • Sally Gogin
  • Kimberley Cullen
  • CONGRATULATIONS!
John still says it's impossible for anyone to answer all of those questions
    -- sour grapes!

The Tom Swifties Contest was an explosive success.

The Grand Prize (winner of TOM SWIFT AND THE CAVES OF NUCLEAR FIRE and TOM SWIFT AND THE VISITOR FROM PLANET X) went to

"I'm ambivalent about the gay lifestyle," said Tom, half in earnest. - Roy Olsen
