The Library owns more than 100,000 books, magazines and newspapers, and subscribes to several databases for periodical and encyclopedia articles. In addition, there is a collection of back issues of more than 160 periodicals.

Locating Materials
Books are located in the following locations:
From off-campus, you won't be able to read eBooks directly from the Library Catalog. Instead, from off-campus, please search for eBooks directly from the NetLibrary website. You will be asked to supply your campus user name and password. Please ask a librarian if you have any questions about using NetLibrary. You log on to databases and eBooks the same way you log on to the computers on campus, with your campus user name and password. Faculty and staff can use their campus e-mail (Outlook) user name and password.
Inter-Library Loan
Make your request with the reference librarian, and expect the item(s) to arrive no sooner than 1 week from day of request.
Your Library Account
In the My Account feature of the library catalog, information about current library transactions can be viewed, a personal identification number (PIN) can be changed, and checked-out materials can be renewed.
Your user ID is your student ID number or, for faculty and staff, your borrower ID number. Contact the library if you do not know your borrower ID number. The initial PIN is changeme To change the PIN, click User PIN change. You will be prompted for your user ID and the initial PIN. Enter your new PIN and enter it again for verification.
In the "My Account" feature of the library catalog, click Renew Materials and enter your user ID and PIN. You may select items to renew, or renew all items.
You may only place a hold on an item that is currently checked out. In the Search Results list, click Details next to the title you wish to hold. Enter your user ID and PIN.
Eligible Borrowers
Loan Periods Fines on overdue materials are listed here. Class reserve books carry a fine of $12 per day overdue. If the library is closed and you need to pay a fine to have a hold lifted to register, please call 310-233-4472. If no one is available, leave a message clearly stating your name, student ID number, a number where you can be reached, and the problem. An appointment can be made to rectify the situation as quickly as possible. Appointments are possible during library closure.
