Eligibility
EOPS is a state funded program designed to recruit and retain educationally and economically disadvantaged students. The program provides services over and above those offered by financial aid, tutoring, counseling, and other college student service programs.
To qualify for EOPS, a student must demonstrate an economic disadvantage by filing either a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or a Board of Governors Fee Waiver (BOGFW) through the Financial Aid Office, and fall within the following income guidelines:

(1) = $14,700 or less
(2) = $19,800 or less
(3) = $24,900 or less
(4) = $30,000 or less
(5) = $35,100 or less
(6) = $40,200 or less
Add $5,100 for each additional family member
Also, to qualify for EOPS a student must demonstrate an educational disadvantage by:
- having placement scores below the English 28 level and/or Math 123A level, or
- having not graduated from high school nor earned a GED, or
- being a high school graduate with a cumulative high school grade point average less than 2.5, or
- having taken remedial classes previously, or
- being a first generation college student, or
- coming from a household where English was not the primary language spoken in the home, or

being an emancipated foster youth.
Finally, to be eligible for EOPS a student must be enrolled in 12 or more units, have not completed more than 70 degree applicable units cumulative, and be a resident of the state of California.
