How to Apply for Financial Aid
Step 1
File a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) either on the web at this site http://fafsa.ed.gov/ or complete the application and return it to our office to file electronically for you.
Step 2
Come in to our office in AD 131 when you receive your Student Aid Reports or a letter from us requesting additional documentation (when your application comes in to our database, we generate a letter to you).
Step 3
Bring in all the documentation we request. Some students will be asked to provide copies of tax returns or other paperwork. Until your file is complete it cannot be processed further.
Step 4
The Financial Aid Office reviews the application for eligibility and automatically processes a fee waiver for eligible students.
Step 5
The Financial Aid Office sends an Award Letter to the student.
Step 6
If the Award Letter includes federal Work-Study, the student must come in and accept or reject the work-study award.
Step 7
Financial Aid payments (except for loans) are either sent by mail or transferred electronically to the student\'s bank account (EFT). EFT is the fastest and safest way to receive your financial aid funds. Just bring a voided check or a copy of your bank statement to the Cashiers Office to set up EFT.
